Hyper-Intelligent Shade of the Color Blue

I just have to say that after a couple of weeks trying out Trillian I'm very impressed. All of my personal chat and email in one convenient window (except gmail). It really is "The Swiss Army Knife of Instant Messaging." And I'm using the free version. Give those hoopy Cerulean froods a pat on the back. They really know where their towels are.

*I've noticed a lot of people coming here on a search for "hyper-intelligent shade of the color blue" and I don't explain much about it here. I assume you know that this is a reference to The Hitchhiker's books by Douglas Adams. If you want some Guide kitsch, they have a nice supply over at CafePress.*

7/15/07 Update: You can also check out the entry for the Hooloovoo on Wikipedia. If you would like to leave a comment to tell me WHY you were searching on the Hooloovoo (the hyper-intelligent shade of the color blue) it will help me put the info here that you and others will want to find. I get about five hits per week on that search phrase. If you can't comment on blogger you can also email me at cmdrsue@gmail.com.

  1. I was searching for it cause my friend was like blah blah blah something about a paragraph from page six with the hollywood a-list and something called 'gemma ward' was listed and we were like among other things this is the bunkest so-called a-list ever. i was like what is gemma ward? i hope its a pair of siamese twins that go by one name. or a hyperintelligent shade of the color blue. then i was like, 'whats that from anyway?' cause i haven't read h2g2 in amillino years. i'll read the wiki page now though thanks.

  2. LOL! I found your post Googling for "a hyper-intelligent shade of the color blue" because I didn't remember the exact spelling of the name of the species. I was making an indirect comment on my blog and I wanted to be correct in my hidden h2g2 shout-out.

You can see the post I'm talking about here:

  3. Just came here from a google search for "hyperintelligent shade of the color blue". Figured out why so many people are finding your site with this search. It's cause we're all remembering the book wrong. It's actually a superintelligent shade of the color blue, so none of the guide fansites show up with this search.

  4. Well, hey, as long as I'm being of service.

And now that you've added the phrase "superintelligent shade of the color blue" to my googlable content I will probably get even more hits. Wait, let me say it again and say it right: a Hooloovoo is a superintelligent shade of the colour blue. Come to me my Google friends...

    :)

  5. I ended up here because I saw the phrase 'hyperintelligent shade of blue' referenced in a BBC comment to an article on the possibility of life on other planets. I knew I recognised the reference, but could not place where...so I googled it and here I am!

  6. I was searching because I'd forgotten how to spell Hooloovoo, although now looking back on it, that's not the nicest thing to say about myself.

  7. I googled Hooloovoo, and it sent me here. After reading HHG I wondered if someone could have asked Hooloovoo instead of Deep thought the ultimate question. What is the meaning to life the universe and everything.Would the answer still be 42. If so is Hooloovoo the 42nd shade of blue?
